About me: I attended Chemeketa Community College on my way to receiving my BA in English from Western Oregon University and an MA in English: Literature and Culture from Oregon State University with practice in Web Authorship and Design. I've been teaching writing since 2006 and am always excited to hear your ideas on this sometimes-crazy world we live in and your unique perspective on the context we share. I enjoy writing poetry, research articles, and long fiction with a Sci-Fi twist. Outside the classroom, I grew up deep sea fishing, and I also love a great river swim. Have you tried snorkeling the rivers of Oregon? The North Fork of the Santiam and the Molalla River are a few of my favorite spots, snorkeling alongside rainbow and brown-spotted trout, sometimes big salmon. People don't seem to snorkel rivers too much, keeping it instead for tropical oceans, but it always leaves you to swim freely and commune with the fishes so to speak no matter where. We are so fortunate to live in a state where ocean, river, mountain, or desert is just a choice away.
Writing is an invaluable way to communicate your experiences and ideas with this wonderful world, and I look forward to an ongoing conversation with you throughout the term.
