Greetings! My name is Tristan Striker. I joined LBCC this fall as a faculty member in the English/Writing department, where I will teach English Composition, ALP, and American Literature. I will also be taking over as faculty adviser for the Poetry Club.
I have spent the last decade teaching all over. Starting in New York City at the City University of New York, I made my way through Connecticut, Hawai'i, and Portland. My long journey teaching everything from Poetry, Short Fiction, American Literature, and African American Literature has led me here!
When I'm not teaching or writing, I love playing with my dog, listening to plenty of electronic music, lifting weights, and watching Eighties action movies. However, most of my free time is spent perfecting my puns and honing my "incredible" sense of humor. Most people don't laugh as hard at my jokes as I do, but that's ok. I understand that jokes like "What do you call a fly without wings...a walk" are incredibly complex. It takes time, and I'm sure people laugh long after they leave my company.
On a more serious note, I am extremely excited to work with all of you! Please do not hesitate to reach out to me about classes, Poetry club, or anything related to literature and writing. When I am on campus, my office is always open. Stop by anytime!
This quarter (Fall 2018) I will be teaching:
English Composition WR121_05
English Composition WR121_07
