Hailey earned her BS in Corporate Communication at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA (Go Dukes!). After completing her undergrad, she spent two years as an AmeriCorps VISTA serving in Wenatchee, WA and Moorhead, MN.
After AmeriCorps, Hailey received her MA in Speech Communication from North Dakota State University (Go Bison!). During graduate school, Hailey taught Public Speaking as well as researched the socializing messages first-generation college students receive that influence their decisions to pursue higher education. Through her teaching and research, Hailey realized she loved working with college students and decided to enter Student Affairs in the areas of leadership, service-learning, and civic engagement.
During her time in Student Affairs at both Concordia College and NDSU, Hailey created numerous programs that exposed students to issues of social-justice impacting local, national, and global communities. Additionally, she spoke frequently at conferences and seminars, guest lectured around campus, and taught a Community Leadership/Activism course that integrated many interpersonal communication concepts.
In her free-time, Hailey enjoys chasing around her rambunctious son, learning random trivia, and sipping tea out of quirky mugs. She is absolutely thrilled to be teaching Public Speaking and Interpersonal Communication at LBCC!
