John Jarschke is a Faculty and Instructor for The Culinary Ars Program. He started in 1987 at Horst Mager Culinary Institute in Portland, Oregon. He worked as a teaching assistant in the dining room where he developed a discerning palate for wine and spirits. He also has attended continuing education classes in wine and food through Chemeketa's Oenology Program and The Culinary Institute of America. He has been a participant in The Internatiional Pinot Noir Celebration since 1996. He has worked at restaurants in Portland and Eugene, baking for Cafe Zenon, West Brothers and King Estate Winery. "I have had the opportunity to work with chefs throughout the world including to trips to cook at The James Beard House in Manhattan," John says, "This is a very exciting and always changing industry."
