Seth Williams, an LBCC alum, established this scholarship in honor of LBCC staff members Bridgid Backus and Carol Wenzel. Seth is a medical student at OHSU and credits the three years he spent earning his degree at LBCC as instrumental to his success. He also credits LBCC chemistry instructor Bridgid Backus, who he recalls a phenomoenal science teacher, for helping him through the rough spots. And he says working as a student ambassador with Carol Wenzel, who at the time was student activities coordinator, helped him to develop his leadership skills and overcome his shyness.
