About Me

I’ve always loved school.  Maybe that’s why I’m still here!

I completed a BA in English Education and an MA in Interdisciplinary Studies (English, Speech Communication, Education) at Oregon State University.  Since then, I’ve done post-Master’s work in Composition, Communication, and Education at Oregon State University, Western Oregon University, Lewis and Clark College, and George Fox University.

Fall 2020 begins my 33rd year in formal classrooms.  This is my 23rd year at LBCC, and I spent 10 years in public and private high schools.  I've also taught Lamaze Prepared Childbirth, skin care, and community children's classes.

Since I believe that we learn best when we are fully engaged, I'm an advocate of "active learning."  That means that we do a lot of small group activities combined with bigger group work. We really can learn from one another.  Fall term 2020 may be a challenge for that, but I think we can still "distance" and learn from one another.
