Performing accurate, thorough, and efficient Vehicle Inspections is a critical skill for any Automotive Technician.

For this Final Inspection you will be timed.   A complete and accurate vehicle inspection is much more important than a fast inspection time.

Finding faults that affect the safety of the vehicle or it's occupants is far more important to your employer than being fast.

Begin this Final Vehicle Inspection by:
#1 Collect all the measurement and inspection tools that you might need.
#2 Ask for a vehicle to complete this final inspection on.
#3 Check Out a tool box.

Do not look up any specifications ahead of time. The vehicle should be in the repair stall but not already set on the lift.

During your inspection... DO NOT run the engine to operating Temperature!

If your Vehicle has no indication on the transmission dipstick for COLD - mark the inspection sheet as it appears on the dipstick for Operating Temperature. If your dipstick shows both Cold and Hot use the COLD markings on the dipstick when recording fluid level on the Inspection Check Sheet.

You may ask for assistance from other students during this inspection.  Some parts of the inspection may require assistance.

DO NOT make any changes to this vehicle. Do not add or correct any condition that is out of specification. Do not add air, oil, water, coolant, etc.

DO make sure you properly torque any wheel that has been removed.
